I have a huge secret, one that I have been keeping for years, one that is going to change the way you clean your hair forever and save you money from going to a professional salon.
You heard me right, I have a trick that is going to be saving you money for years to come… are you ready?
BAKING SODA!
Yes you heard me right, baking soda. I am by no means any professional hairdresser, hell I barely found out a few weeks ago that I have type 2C hair. So when I say this trick helps your hair stay healthy, shiny, and gets you tons of compliments, I truly mean it.
Here’s the trick… once a week adding baking soda into your regular shampoo. Simple enough right?
Now let me break it down for you.
Over the course of the week, your hair builds up so much dirt, product and even sweat that just won’t come out from a regular wash, no matter how much you shampoo.
Baking soda is a deep cleaning agent, that is natural and totally safe to use. I discovered this trick years ago and have been using it since, saving me money on trips to the salon for deep cleaning treatments when I can just do it from home myself.
To start, you are going to need a box of baking soda, your favorite shampoo and a small container to mix. One box of baking soda, which usually cost under $1 can last you up to four months.
All you’re going to do is pour about 3-5 tablespoons of your favorite shampoo into your small shower safe container, however much you usually use to wash your hair plus extra.
Next, add in about 2-3 tablespoons of baking soda, and mix with your finger till you get a thicker consistency of your regular shampoo texture.
Now your ready to wash your hair like you normally do using this mixture, however, I recommend washing your hair upside down, so you can really get into all the nooks and crannies, then tie your hair up onto the top of your head.
Wait 3-5 minutes before rinsing, that way you get your deep shampoo to work properly.
Your hair is going to feel stiffer, that’s normal, now go in with your favorite conditioner to moisturize your hair like normal.
Before you get out of the shower, make sure to rinse your hair with cold water, to close all your hair pores.
You're done! Repeat once a week.
Simple huh? I’ve gotten so many compliments on how shiny my hair looks after doing this. I no longer feel an itchy scalp and this helps control my annoying dandruff without having to buy special yucky smelling shampoo.
This works with any type of shampoo, I have tried multiple and they all work.
I hope you try this out, share your results with me!
